Meet The Pastor...

Hi, I’m Ben Marlowe and I have been the Minister at Southborough Lane Baptist Church since 2016.

I have been married to Sue for 39 years. We have three daughters and eight grandchildren, which in addition to the two dogs means our family is growing nicely.

Sue and I began attending in church in 1993 and I do remember well that it can be a daunting experience connecting with a church for the first time!

But I am so pleased that we plucked up the courage and persevered because we very quickly learned just how transforming it is to develop a personal relationship with God. 

I do believe that God has a great plan for all of us and if we will allow him to he wants to do amazing things in all our lives.

Sometimes God changes things for us quickly and sometimes he does it more slowly. He will never make us go faster than we want to. For me it was pretty quick. I began training in 1997 and was ordained in 2000. I then served at a church in Essex before moving to Bromley.

It has been a brilliant move because SLBC is a church family that is warm, welcoming and supportive and it is wonderful to be part of it and to be part of the plans that God has for us.
