Christ Church (United Reformed) Willett Way Petts Wood will host a film based ecumenical Lent course on Tuesday evenings starting on 28 February 2012. You are warmly invited to join us at 7.30pm. The films have been carefully selected for their thought provoking content and discussion will follow.

Biopic of St Francis of Assisi - very '70's', beautifully shot and the title song is sung by Donovan.

6 March - Of Gods and Men (2010)

True story of French Cistercian monks killed in Algeria in 1996. A story of conscience and commitment. (Sub-titles) Directed by Xavier Beauvois.

13 March - Shadowlands (1993)

The story of CS Lewis, his conversion and marriage. A beautiful and moving film (true of course). Directed by Richard Attenborough.

20 March - The Mission (1986)

17th century Spanish Jesuits try to protect a remote South American Indian tribe, in danger of falling under the rule of pro-slavery Portugal. Starring Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons.

27 March - The Way (2010)

An inspiring and amusing story of one man's journey on the Camino de Compostela (the Way of St James) - a story of self-discovery in the complex world of today. Starring Martin Sheen and directed by his son, Emilio Estevez.
