Our current governing documents, London Baptist Property Board Ltd (LBPB) Trust Deed dated 5th June 1974, Articles of Faith and Church Rules will no longer meet legal requirements and will therefore, have to be replaced. LBPB have negotiated a new ‘Constitution for Baptist Churches’, acceptable to the Charity Commission, whilst retaining those characteristics that make us Baptists, for example, decisions made at Church Members Meetings. To accommodate differences in Baptist views, LBPB have agreed options that each Baptist Church can choose from, which are acceptable to the Charity Commission.
The Elders and Minister have now agreed the options for the proposed new governing document, which are highlighted in red in the above download file. Please bring your questions and comments to the Church Members Meeting on 24th September, as part of the consultation process.
